My illustration for the third chapter of “Waffle Hearts” by Maria Parr. The grandfather and his sister as the bride and the groom, on the St. John’s Day. Apparently, it is popular in western Norway for children to dress in bride and groom outfits and participate in mock weddings as a celebration of new life, so when in the book grandparents appear, everybody is shocked and paralyzed by laugh.
